Surobuin Floral Tribute Park or Surobuin Flower Offering Park.
Surobuin Flower Offering Park is located in Samcheok, Gangwon Province. It is a popular sunrise spot on the East Coast, featuring the largest sculpture in East Asia. The park is based on the story of Surobuin, a legendary beauty featured in Giye, Volume 2 of Samguk Yusa (Memorabilia of the Three Kingdoms), where two poems, Heonhwaga (Flower Offering Song) and Haegasa (Sea Song), are included.
The Surobuin legend takes place along the East Coast, centered around the historic city of Siljikuk. At Jeungsan Beach in Samcheok, the Haegasa site and Imhaejeong (a traditional pavilion) have been restored and are managed. Namhwaksan Mountain, located in Imwon-ri, Wondeok-eup, is the backdrop of the Heonhwaga, where the stories of Surobuin from both Heonhwaga and Haegasa are reproduced as modern sculptures using natural stone materials.
Namhwaksan has been famous as a sunrise spot even before the creation of the Surobuin Flower Offering Park. From Imwon Port to the top of the park, it takes about 20 minutes on foot. At the entrance of the walking trail, a 51-meter-high elevator has been installed for easier access to the inclined areas. Throughout the trail, there are also resting decks where visitors can relax.
